The Cruise Continues

That evening the Victoria set sail to the north for an over-night at sea. We'd spend the next day cruising around the top of Denmark to arrive in Copenhagen the following morning. My ex-lover is Danish and I had heard that he had moved back to Copenhagen, so I am going to try to find him. The e-mail address I have for him is not correct so I am just going to see if I can look him up once we're there. We dock in the morning, Rusty and I bundle up real warm and set-off to see this elegant city. As we are walking along the water we come across the Little Mermaid sculpture perched on her boulder like I have seen many times on TV. Continuing our journey into the city center we come across a nice looking hotel and I decide to go in to look-up my ex. I go to the desk and ask if the woman speaks english, she does so I tell her my goal and being a great help she looks him up in the computer. We find seven people with his name and she writes them all down for me, I will try calling them later. Rusty wants to get going and we do. He has been here before and knows his way around a little. We check-out the Christmas Markets, stroll past the open-air ice skating rink and head down the walking street to the gay neighborhood all the while being on the look-out for his familiar face. This is a great city, we explore all over and then join the group we are traveling with at Tivoli Gardens for dinner.
That night back on the ship, I try calling my exlover. Before we left the states, I find out that my cellphone will work in Europe and it does; I call all the numbers the hotel clerk wrote down for me and not one was him so I am out of luck, although I did enjoy talking to others with the same name as my friend.
Two days are planed to spend in Copenhagen so on the second day Rusty wants to see Kristiania. This is a section of town that has declared itself it's own country apart from Demark. What it is, is an old military fort that squatters have settled into back in the nineteen seventies, and have been ever since. They also call it Freetown because the athorities have let them alone to live freely and it is quite different from the neighboring City. It is so hippy and way cool, we loved it. No one on our cruise has heard of it so again we tell of our adventures exploring on our own. That evening Victoria sets off to Oslo Norway where Rusty and I have been before just a few years back. In the morning we will be revisiting another world class city so I'll have more to tell about our trip later.

More, more, more details. Did you guys shoot any pictures while you were there? An open-air Christmas market sounds so beautiful.
