WE'RE GONNA GO EGGS, five weeks later

The girls are getting bigger. I love them in their dinosaur kinda way but they are not the Chicky chicks I like to call them. They are more like fraighdy cats. I try to comfort them when I come into their yard but they still cower in the corner when I enter. Here's a picture of them getting nervous as I get closer. I do hold them gently, and talk softly to them, but I guess it is being so different and so much bigger, they run from. I don't like having to use a net to catch them. You think it's the net? Maybe? It's the only way to get ahold of them. I've carefully handled them from day one, protected in the garage sink with the heat lamps to keep them warm, but I think they know that after eggs for breakfast, they're dinner.

More Vacation, back in February

It was Bear Rondevou that weekend but we almost didn't notice. We did nothing with the 'special weekend' except go to the Lone Star and not know anyone. I will say that the last time I was in San Francisco it looked like a young city, or it seemed that all the people I saw running around the Castro were so young. This weekend it seemed just the opposite, everybody looked my age. I'm sure this was because of the Bear invasion.

One thing that Steve and I got to do was visit with our former next door neighbors Judith and Herbert. It was wonderful to see them. We stopped by their home and they treated us to an elegant dinner in Glen Park. We also saw their Construction project that was completed since I was there last. It looked Great. A new garage with an apartment over it. They kindly made me an offer that I may take them up on. They said next time I am in the City, I may stay in their apt. I'd love that, and just may do it.

They had quite a time with this project. The woman that so out bid all the other buyers and paid us a fortune to purchase our former house/my home art project, turns out to be a Republican't, and a vile one at that. She thinks she now owns the whole block after what she paid. She has her gardeners "clean-up" yards that are not hers, meaning cut down things that she does not care for or trim them if they may someday block her view. She took out a very hard to get silver tree that neighbors paid me to put in their yard. Next she put up a stink when Judith and Herbert started their construction. She tried to block them, saying it would encroach on her and it looked bad for them at one point but it served her good when Judith and Herbert changed their plans to accommodate her and ended up with a much better structure that is actually taller then the first plans and actually do encroach on her but 'are to code' and approved, so fuck off. She brought this on..... I do have to apologise to them for giving them a monster to live next to. I got to profit from my first house at the peak of the market and I feel she may never sell it for what she paid me, but at what price is the question? To let loose this 'evil' in our quite, liberal, little, San Francisco enclave.

WOW IS ME!

Here is my little gold mine BEFORE THE MAKE OVER. That's my jeep too. Judith's house is to the right. I can't believe this little house did me so well. The blue grey house on the left is world beat musician Danny Haines, before said 'Silver tree', now gone.
